Ruby is the jewel of our office and has been working with Dr. Acker and Dr. Lehninger for 23 years. As the office manager, Ruby keeps track of our schedule and is constantly striving to make each patient's experience the best it can be. She also maintains and repairs our computers and works closely with equipment manufacturers and support staff for all of our state-of-the-art-technology.
Ruby has lived in Florida for 26 years with her husband Marty. She is an avid fisher person, enjoys making jewelry and is an accomplished bowler.
Deb, our Office Coordinator, joined our practice in 2011. She has been working in various dental practices for over 30 years. She handles all aspects of the front desk, including our sedation consults, web page and social media sites. She attended the University of Connecticut and is also a certified nutritional microscopist. Deb is originally from Connecticut and moved to Florida in 1990. She has a son named Shay who attends the University of Florida.
In her free time she likes to garden, travel and spend time on our beautiful beaches.
Paula joined our practice in August, 2015 shortly after moving to the Suncoast from South Carolina. She graduated with honors in 2003 from Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC with an Associates Degree in Dental Hygiene. After graduation, Paula began her dental hygiene career in South Carolina where she practiced for over 12 years in the same dental office. Throughout her career she has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and care of dental hygiene not only in the United States, but in Central America as well, where she aided impoverished communities on multiple medical mission trips.
Paula enjoys exercising, spending time outdoors with her husband boating and fishing and relaxing on the beach.
Alexandra (Alex) joined our practice in January, 2016. She comes from Massachusetts where she was a certified Dental Assistant working with a general Dentist for the past 15 years. Alex is committed to the highest level of patient care and her goal is to make your experience with us a pleasant one. She has great skills in four handed dentistry and she hopes you can meet her chair side. Alex loves to snow mobile and is hoping to try jet skiing and other water sports in the future.
She is a proud mother to Carissa, her only daughter, who attends SCFCS earning an Associates Degree at the end of high school.
Karen relocated to Venice from Buffalo, NY where she was a Dental Assistant for over 25 years. She joined our team in January, 2016.
Karen attended Niagara Community College and graduated with her degree in Dental Assisting.
Karen enjoys spending most of her free time with her sister Kathleen and her brother Nick.
She loves the beach and enjoys the gym and dancing.
Julie joined our practice in January, 2016 as our sterilization technician. She is originally from Pennsylvania and moved to Florida in 2015.
She has earned her associates degree in the Summer of 2016 and will be attending the University of South Florida this Fall. She is studying to earn her bachelor’s degree in criminology.
In her free time, Julie loves to read, play tennis and visit family and friends in Pennsylvania.
